3D Work

These candles are wrapped in images of figure drawings I've done. They change colors! Behold:

This is a color changing lantern with transparency prints of my original photography and painting:

This is a snow globe with my original photography from a trip to Iceland:

One medium that never gets old to me is glitter. For the Jinxed Heart Show, every participant receives the same heart-shaped wooden board and can make anything they want on that board. Of course, the show is on or around Valentine's Day. For this show, I made a Unicorn head complete with an LED light border and a purple mane. I used Crayola foam to shape the body, ears and horn. It turned out spectacular and is now hanging above the doorway to my art studio.

Studio Drafts: Drawing Dinos

Since the onset of Covid, I have certainly been missing in-person sketch meetups. Artists have been forced to get even more creative to think of ways to get our drawing fix. I have been joining the Dinosaur sketch series, set up by the Academy of Natural Sciences, and sponsored by Flying Fish Brewery. This is a 4 session, once-weekly series about an hour long where participants learn how to draw dinosaurs and paleo artist Jason Poole talks through the details of their skin texture, body mass, etc.

Who doesn't love dinosaurs, especially ones that come with a beer pairing? Artist Jason Poole provided us with pre-session sketches, and participants added their own flair during the zoom call while also learning about the particular dinosaur. Enjoy these photos of the session in action and my final 1- hour sketches!
